Keep your biscuits in an airtight container or zippered freezer bag, in a cool and dark place.
Yes! Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits freeze so wonderfully too! If you decide to go that route, hold off on the buttering the tops. Let them cool and place the biscuits in a freezer bag.
I like to make a big batch of these buttermilk biscuits and freeze them to have ready to go on the weekends. To thaw, leave your biscuits at room temperature.
Place your biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment or sprayed with non stick cooking spray and heat them at 350 degrees for 6-8 minutes, giving them a quarter turn half way through.

I came back from college to find bags of pancake mix in my house of non-pancake eaters (we favor waffles). I found this recipe while looking for what to do with it. It was my first time baking, boy, was I worried! My dad suggested we add peanut butter to the mix and it came out so well!
Thank you for sharing your recipe ♡

Is there a way to alter this recipe to make it into shortcakes? Maybe just add sugar? What do you recommend?

I think they are fine as they are, or if you want to add a touch more of sweetness 1/4 cup of sugar should be fine.

Made these because I had some extra buttermilk on hand and they're delicious! Split them in half, buttered them and added a bit of preserves. Perfect little addition to breakfast :)

Why is the butter cold? Are you supposed to cut it in at some point?
