What Are Chicken Fritters Made Of?
This chicken recipe is made with bite-sized pieces of chicken combined with simple ingredients that help bind everything together and add flavor.
- Chicken breast – Boneless, skinless chicken breast is typically diced into small pieces, though some recipes use ground or shredded chicken.
- Eggs – Help hold the mixture together.
- Flour – Gives the fritters structure and creates a tender texture.
- Shredded cheese – Cheddar, mozzarella, or Parmesan add flavor and help the fritters stay moist.
- Seasonings – Garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, parsley, dill, salt, and black pepper are common choices.
- Oil – Used for pan-frying until the fritters are golden brown and crispy.

How to Make Chicken Fritters
- Combine diced chicken breast, egg, flour, mozzarella, cheddar, seasonings (salt, pepper, dill, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic, parsley), and mix thoroughly in a large bowl.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Scoop a tablespoon of the chicken mixture, shape it into a patty, and fry until each side is golden brown and fully cooked. Adjust cooking time for larger patties. Fry in batches to avoid crowding the pan.
- Transfer cooked fritters to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil and repeat with the remaining mixture.

Chicken fritters are crispy, savory patties made with diced or shredded chicken, eggs, flour, cheese, and seasonings. The mixture is pan-fried until golden brown on the outside and juicy on the inside. They can be served as a main dish, appetizer, or snack and pair well with dipping sauces like ranch, honey mustard, or garlic aioli.
You can use different cheeses, herbs, vegetables, or spices. Popular additions include Parmesan cheese, green onions, bacon, spinach, jalapeños, Cajun seasoning, and fresh herbs. Ground chicken can also be used instead of diced chicken.
Cooked chicken fritters keep well in the refrigerator for up to 5 days when stored in an airtight container. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months and reheated in the oven or air fryer for the best texture.
What to Serve with Chicken Fritters
- A dipping sauce like garlic aioli, sweet chili, ranch, honey mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
