Sheet Pan Sausage, Peppers and Onions FAQs
Roast the ingredients in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by ensuring that the sausage is cooked through, and the peppers and onions are tender and slightly caramelized. You can also check the internal temperature of the sausage with a meat thermometer; it should reach at least 160°F.
Leaving sausages uncovered allows them to develop a crispy exterior, ideal for a firm texture. However, covering them can help retain moisture and ensure even cooking, especially when baking with other ingredients or in casserole.
You can use your favorite sausage, such as sweet Italian sausages, hot Italian sausages, or any other variety you like. Choose sausages that you enjoy, as their flavor will be a prominent element in the dish.
If you prefer a spicier version, the simplest way is to use hot sausages or add optional red pepper flakes to the dish when seasoning. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your desired level of heat.
Yes, you can prepare the sausages, peppers, and onions in advance and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake. When you’re ready to cook, simply transfer everything to a baking sheet and follow the baking instructions.
Pricking the sausages with a fork before cooking can help prevent them from bursting. This allows excess fat to escape as they cook and helps maintain their shape.
Yes, you can freeze any leftover sausage, peppers, and onions for later use. Store them in an airtight container or freezer-safe bags. When reheating, thaw in the refrigerator and then reheat in the oven or on the stovetop.
Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3-4 days. Ensure proper storage in an airtight container to maintain freshness.

I just made this for dinner—so yummy! I sliced the sausage links (into coins) and tested after 35 minutes, the temp on 10-15 pieces ranged from 165-175F, cooked through. We topped flax pita bread with provolone then broiled to make flatbreads. 🤤 Thank you for sharing!

All the comments say "looks good" but nobody say that they tried it. I can tell you that none of this is going to be done after 25-30 minutes at 350. I HAVE made this meal several times and you need a higher temp for a bit longer than stated.

Actually on the pin: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/29062360084888399/ there are plenty of comments from people who have tried this sheet pan sausage and peppers recipe. I actually just made this for lunch today and I can assure you it was done in a half hour. Perhaps your oven is calibrated on a lower temperature.
