Sheet Pan Sausage and Peppers
Sheet pan sausage and peppers is the ultimate answer to your weeknight dinner struggles.
With one pan and minimal prep you’ll have a family-friendly meal recipe on the table without breaking a sweat.
This recipe isn’t just about convenience, it’s about creating a hearty dish that tastes like it came straight from your favorite Italian restaurant, but with a fraction of the effort.
With colorful bell peppers, juicy sausage, and a hands-off cooking method, it’s the kind of meal that makes weeknights easier and weekends more relaxed.

How to Make Sausage and Peppers in a Sheet Pan
- To make this classic dish, start by preheating your oven to 350°F and lining a sheet pan with parchment or foil.
- Slice the sausage before baking if you want it to absorb more flavor, or leave them whole for extra juiciness.
- To keep the peppers tender but not soggy, cut them into even strips and give them space on the pan so they roast instead of steam.
- Arrange Italian sausage in the center, either whole or sliced, and surround them with sliced onions and peppers.
- Drizzle with olive oil, season generously with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder, then roast for about 25 minutes until everything is tender and flavorful.
- Always check that the sausage is fully cooked (160°F for pork, 165°F for poultry).
For busy nights, slice the veggies ahead of time and store them in the fridge until you’re ready to bake.
Serving Ideas for One Pan Sausage Peppers and Onions
This dish is hearty on its own, but it’s also incredibly versatile!
- Pile the sausage and peppers into a crusty hoagie roll with melted provolone for the ultimate sandwich night.
- Serve it over side dish recipes like fluffy white rice or buttered noodles for a comforting dinner.
- For a lighter option, pair it with a fresh green salad or oven roasted vegetables.
- It also makes a great topping for baked potatoes or a simple pizza base.
Bake at 350°F. This allows the sausage to cook through while the peppers and onions become tender and slightly caramelized.
About 25–30 minutes, depending on whether the sausage is sliced or left whole. Always check that it reaches 160°F for pork or 165°F for chicken/turkey.
Sweet Italian sausage is the classic choice, but hot Italian, chicken, or turkey sausage also work perfectly—just choose based on your flavor preference.

I can’t wait to make this! I’m a big, big fan of sheet pan meals. They’re so easy to make, and the cleanup is a breeze.
I LOVE sheet pan meals. I meal prep for the week and sheet pan meals make that so much easier. I just might have to add this to my rotation. Using chicken sausage and probably adding sweet potatoes…

Is this a keto friendly diet ???
I am sorry I do not follow keto so I wouldn’t know.
yes it is but no bread.
thank you for answering!
@Kim, I was wondering too. I’m trying to find the nutritional information for my tracking.
All the comments say “looks good” but nobody say that they tried it. I can tell you that none of this is going to be done after 25-30 minutes at 350. I HAVE made this meal several times and you need a higher temp for a bit longer than stated.
Actually on the pin: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/29062360084888399/ there are plenty of comments from people who have tried this sheet pan sausage and peppers recipe. I actually just made this for lunch today and I can assure you it was done in a half hour. Perhaps your oven is calibrated on a lower temperature.
Made this tonight was delicious!
Love hearing this!
This is such a delicious and easy dinner idea! Sheet pan dinners are always a hit on our house! Thank you (too) for mentioning my chicken with artichokes and potatoes sheet pan dinner recipe! 🙂
You are welcome!!
I just made this for dinner—so yummy! I sliced the sausage links (into coins) and tested after 35 minutes, the temp on 10-15 pieces ranged from 165-175F, cooked through.
We topped flax pita bread with provolone then broiled to make flatbreads. 🤤 Thank you for sharing!
Yum!!! Sounds so good!
