Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 2 cans cornbread muffins or buttermilk biscuits
  • ½ cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 375° and spray muffin pan with cooking spray.
  • Cook meat in a large skillet.
  • Make the sloppy joe sauce. Stir in the garlic powder, onion flakes, ketchup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and mustard. Cook the sloppy joe mix til hot and bubbly on medium heat.
  • Open the can of biscuits and separate dough. Press dough into the muffin cup to make little cups. Repeat with the remaining biscuits.
  • Divide meat mixture into the canned biscuits dough sections.
  • Sprinkle the sloppy joe meat mixture with cheese or You can choose to add the cheese after your biscuit cups are finished baking.
  • Bake for a total time of 18 to 20 minutes until the edges of the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Lift a muffin and check the bottom of the cup to see if it is browned.  
  • Remove from the muffin tins and serve.
