      Ingredients

      Dump Cake

      • 1 cup all purpose flour
      • ¾ cup white granulated sugar
      • ½ cup cocoa powder
      • 2 teaspoons baking powder
      • ¼ teaspoon salt
      • ½ cup milk
      • ¼ cup vegetable oil
      • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
      • ¾ cup brown sugar
      • ½ cup chopped pecans
      • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
      • 1 ¾ cup hot water

      Toppings

      • Whipped Cream
      • Ice Cream
      • Cherries

      Instructions

      1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
      2. In a mixing bowl make the chocolate cake mix by adding the flour, sugar, ¼ cup of the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
      3. Whisk all the dry ingredients together until combined.
      4. Then add the wet ingredients – milk, vegetable oil and vanilla. 
      5. Whisk together until a thick batter forms. 
      6. Add this to a 9×9 cake pan, prepped with baking spray. Spread evenly in the bottom of the pan.
      7. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cocoa powder on top of the cake batter evenly.
      8. Now pour the hot water into the dish. Do not stir anything together. 
      9. Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans throughout the dish.
      10. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes. You will now its done with there is a brownie crust layer formed on the top.
      11. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes, allowing the gooey part of the sundae dump cake to thicken into a pudding.
      12. Top the warm cake with your favorite ice cream toppings such as a scoop of your favorite ice cream, maraschino cherries and more nuts.
