Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: Easy No-Churn Dessert You’ll Love
Cookies and cream ice cream is one of those timeless dessert recipes that never goes out of style — because who can resist a swirl of crunchy chocolate cookies and creamy vanilla ice cream all in one bite?
There’s just something magical about cookies and cream ice cream. Maybe it’s the nostalgia of those after-school treats or the way every scoop feels like the perfect combo of comfort and indulgence.
It’s creamy, dreamy, and filled with chunks of chocolatey goodness that make each bite feel like a mini celebration.
Whether you’re serving it in a cone, sandwiching it between brownies, or blending it into a milkshake, this flavor always steals the show.

Is cookies and cream ice cream just vanilla with Oreos?
Pretty much, but there’s a little more to it! The recipe usually starts with a vanilla or sweet cream base, and then gets loaded with crushed Oreos. The magic really happens when those cookies soften slightly and swirl into the creamy base, giving every bite that perfect mix of smooth and crunchy.

What is Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Made Of?
It’s surprisingly easy to make and only needs a few simple ingredients to deliver that rich, creamy flavor you love:
- Sweetened condensed milk,
- Heavy whipping cream
- Vanilla extract
- Oreo cookies (or any chocolate sandwich cookies you like)
Be sure to use cold ingredients as they whip better and a chilled loaf pan helps the ice cream freeze more evenly and quickly.
How to Make Cookies and Cream Ice Cream

First, we whip up a creamy vanilla base no ice cream maker needed! You’ll beat the heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Then, add in the sweetened condensed milk and a splash of vanilla.
Toss the cookies in a plastic bag and crush them up (a rolling pin works great for this!), then fold most of those cookie bits into the vanilla mixture.
Pour it all into a loaf pan lined with plastic wrap, sprinkle the rest of the cookies on top, cover it up, and pop it in the freezer.
Once frozen, let the ice cream sit out for 5-10 minutes before scooping. It’ll be creamier and easier to serve.
At least 4-6 hours, but overnight is best for that firm, scoopable texture.
