What is dirt cake made of?
Dirt cake, also known as dirt pudding, is made with layers of crumbled Oreos cookies, pudding, and whipped topping. The dessert is often topped with gummy worms to resemble a “dirt” effect, making it a fun treat, especially for kids.

This is a no-bake dessert that’s perfect for casual gatherings or themed parties.

Use a food processor to crush the Oreos into fine crumbs, or crush them by hand in a plastic bag with a rolling pin.

Mix half with butter.

Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking dish and freeze.

Next, prepare the pudding.

Fold whipped topping into half of the pudding.

Layer it on top of the Oreo crumbs.

Add the remaining pudding and top with more Oreo crumbs.

For a fun touch, add gummy worms right before serving.

Make sure to let the pudding layers of your Oreo Dirt Cake recipe chill in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before serving to help the dessert set and make cutting easier.

Instead of a large pan, make dirt pudding cups into individual cups. This way, everyone gets their own portion, and it’s perfect for parties or picnics.

Yes, this dessert stores well in the fridge for up to 2 days. Just omit the gummy worms until right before serving to keep them fresh.
