Directions

Bake the Cupcakes

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees and add cupcake liners or regular-size muffin cups to a muffin pan, set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, mix dry ingredients together: flour, baking powder and salt.

In a separate large bowl, using an electric mixer or hand-held mixer, mix the wet ingredients. Start by creaming butter and sugar together until it becomes light and fluffy on medium speed.

Beat egg into mixture until well combined, then beat in egg white and add the vanilla. Mix well.

Alternating, add the flour and milk as you continue to blend ingredients on low speed.

Divide the cupcake batter evenly into cupcake liners, each cup should be 3⁄4 full.

Beat in a thin steady stream of 2 tbsp of heavy cream and the vanilla extract until combined. Add salt and mix to combine.

Evenly divide the frosting into 3 separate bowls, color one bowl with the yellow food coloring drops and the other with the orange drops for a pale orange frosting.

frosting

Fill 3 piping bags with each color.
