How to Make Hocus Pocus Spellbook Brownies
You will need:
- 1 Box Mix Brownies, Prepared or use your favorite brownie recipe
- large candy eyes
- Black Food dye
- 1/2 Cup Butter or Margarine, softened
- 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 1 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Milk or Heavy Cream
- piping bag

Directions
Prepare brownies as instructed.
Pour brownie batter into a prepared pan and bake.
Your brownies are finished when an inserted toothpick comes out clean from the center of the brownies, after about 20-25 minutes.
Let cool to room temperature on a cooling rack.
When your brownies are slightly cooled, put them in the freezer for about five minutes to firm up before cutting into pieces. This will make it much easier and allow you to add toppings or cut decorative designs on top!
Cream butter and vanilla extract until smooth in a large bowl, gradually add in powdered sugar.
Once combined add black food coloring until frosting is as dark as you would like.
Put frosting in pastry bag or large ziplock bag and cut a small portion of the corner.
Cut brownies into 16 equal pieces.
Pipe small circle of icing in middle of right side, and place jumbo candy eye on icing to attach.
Then add remaining decorations to resemble Winifred’s spellbook, like zig zag lines of frosting.
Decorate remaining brownies and enjoy!
Substitute homemade icing for black decorating icing or black cookie frosting.
