Air Fryer Donut Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups All Purpose Flour
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- ⅓ tsp Salt
- 1 Egg
- ⅓ cup Milk
- pinch Nutmeg
- 2 ½ tbsp butter
- ¼ oz yeast
- 3 cups Powdered sugar
- 6 tbsp Butter
- 4 tbsp Milk
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Add dry ingredients to a large bowl: all of the flour, sugar, 13 tsp salt and pinch of nutmeg. Mix well.
- Add egg, butter, milk and yeast. Mix with a wooden spoon.
- Knead the dough.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour so that it rises.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ¼ inch thickness and use a donut cutter or a biscuit cutter to create the classic donut shape
- Place dough onto a parchment lined baking sheet and let rest in the fridge for at least 15 minutes before frying them in the air fryer.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees f.
- Once the air fryer is preheated, place the donuts in the air fryer tray in a single layer, making sure they are not touching each other.
- Air fry donuts for 4-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly on a wire rack before serving warm with your favorite topping(s).
- Prepare the vanilla glaze by mixing all of the ingredients in a small bowl.
- Dip the warm donuts in the glaze and then finish cooling on a cooling rack.
