  1. Beat the the cream cheese until it is fluffy with an electric mixer or stand mixer. Be sure to mix until all of the little lumps in the block of cream cheese are smoothed out. If mixing by hand, give a firm whip.
  2. Fold in the whipped topping.
  3. The last thing you want to do for best results, is to refrigerate fthis tasty fruit dip for about an hour to allow for the dip to cool and the flavors to come together.
  4. Serve with your favorite crackers or fruit of your choice

Try a Different Way to Add to Your Fruit Dip

Because this recipe is so simple, it’s very versatile. Here are some ways you can give your dip a flavor booster. Add these in when you are beating your cream cheese. It’s a great way to get some natural flavor in fewer steps.

  • Add orange or lemon zest
  • Add a few spoonfuls of marshmallow fluff or marshmallow cream to make a marshmallow fruit dip
  • Add a few tablespoons of peanut butter to make a Peanut Butter Fruit Dip
  • Use vanilla extract or almond extract
  • Instead of plain cream cheese, try strawberry cream cheese to make a Strawberry Fruit Dip
  • Mix in orange juice concentrate (it will taste just like an orange creamsicle)
  • Swap out the softened cream cheese for vanilla greek yogurt and make it a yogurt fruit dip recipe
  • Add a few teaspoons of sugar for a little bit of sweetness
  • Swirl in a few tablespoons of lemon curd to make a lemon cream fruit dip
