How to Make Eyeball Donuts

Start by gathering your ingredients — store-bought donuts, white frosting, red decorating gel, gummy rings, and Skittles.

Use plain glazed or cake donuts – Either works, but cake donuts hold frosting a little better.

A cooling rack holds plain bagels ready to become eyeball donuts in a box, a bag of Skittles, Life Savers Gummies, vanilla frosting, red icing, and a gold butter knife, all arranged on a marble surface.

  1. Pour the frosting into a shallow dish and dip the top of each donut, letting the excess drip off.
  2. Let the frosting set slightly before adding the red icing to prevent colors from bleeding.
  3. Use red icing to draw spooky veins, then place a gummy ring in the center with a Skittle inside to create a creepy candy eyeball.
  4. Store the finished donuts at room temperature in a single layer to keep the decorations intact.
How far in advance can I make these?

These are best made the day you plan to serve them, but you can decorate them up to 24 hours in advance. Just store in a single layer in an airtight container.
