To make the Oreo spiders, blend Oreos and softened cream cheese until well combined.

You can use any type of Oreo, whether it’s the classic version, double stuf, Halloween oreos or golden oreo cookies.

If the Oreo and cream cheese mixture feels too soft or sticky to roll into balls, pop it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes to firm up.

Roll the mixture into 25 tablespoon-sized balls using a small scoop to make your spiders look uniform and neat.

Make extra legs! These can be fragile, so having spares ensures you won’t run short in case of breakage. Freezing the candy legs helps them harden quickly and stay sturdy, making it easier to attach them to the spiders without melting.

You do not have to use chocolate to make your spider legs. Try using pretzel sticks, pocky sticks, black licorice or licorice strings as an alternative.

Place candy legs into a freezer on a cookie sheet for about 10 minutes to fully harden.

Attach cute candy eyes on top of the cookie by using some of the excess melted chocolate.

If using candy melts, pick a brand that melts smoothly to avoid clumping. Almond bark is a great alternative for smoother piping.

If you don’t have a piping bag, use a Ziploc bag and cut a small hole in one corner.

To place the cute candy eyes perfectly, use tweezers to avoid fingerprints or smudges on the chocolate.

Keeping the spiders in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving will help everything set properly, making them easier to handle and serve.

Store Oreo Spiders in the fridge for several days in an airtight container.

Easy Oreo Spider Cookies for Halloween

Yield: 25
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 15 minutes
These easy Halloween oreo spiders are a fun and festive way to enjoy your favorite cookies this Halloween! These spooky spider cookies are the perfect Halloween party food!

Ingredients

  • 18 oz. package of Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz. brown or black candy melts or almond bark
  • Candy eyes – about 50

Instructions

  1. Place into a food processor until crumbs are fine
  2. Scoop about 2/3 cup of cookie crumbs for later
  3. Cut cream cheese into smaller chunks and add to the food processor until cream cheese and cookies are well blended.
  4. Using a small scoop or spoon, scoop out 25 tablespoon size balls the Oreo mixture and roll each scoop into a ball.
  5. In a small microwavable bowl, melt the almond bark and put into a small squeeze bottle or you could use a Ziploc bag and make a very small cut in the corner.
  6. Pipe spider legs onto parchment paper.  These legs will just be an "L" shape.  You will need 6 spider legs per spider. I would recommend making extra in case of breakage.
  7. Place candy legs into a freezer for about 10 minutes to fully harden.
  8. Attach candy eyes onto the spider body by using some of the excess melted chocolate
  9. Insert 6 legs into each spider body.

Notes

Store your spider oreo cookies in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
