It’s almost our favorite time of the year! Blackberry picking time! Besides just eating these delicious berries by the handful, we love to make blackberry jam, blackberry crumb bars and blackberry lemonade.

While I am using blackberries in this simple syrup , you can change this recipe up to use really any of your favorite fruit or whatever is in season.
How to Make Blackberry Simply Syrup
You’ll need:
- 1 pint blackberries
- Juice of half a lemon (about a tablespoon or so)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
Place the blackberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat on the stove.





Use a fork to gently mash the berries to bring out the juices.

Add the water and stir to combine.
Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture has thickened slightly.

Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then pour into a container over a fine-mesh sieve.

Store your blackberry simple syrup for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
