How Do You a Make Rice Krispie Cake for Easter?
- Start by preparing a 9-inch tart or pie pan with non-stick spray and parchment paper so your cake releases easily.
- Melt the butter in a large pot, stir in one bag of marshmallows until smooth. Don’t overheat the marshmallows. Melt them on medium-low heat just until smooth. Overheating can make the treats hard instead of soft and chewy.
- Then remove from heat and mix in the vanilla and salt.
- Fold in the Rice Krispies, Fruity Pebbles, and remaining marshmallows until everything is evenly coated.

- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan and let it set for about an hour.
- While it sets, make the marshmallow frosting by beating the butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then folding in the marshmallow fluff, vanilla, and a few drops of blue gel food coloring for a soft pastel look.
- Once the cake is firm, pipe the frosting in a circular motion from the center outward.
- Finish by sprinkling additional Fruity Pebbles on top and decorating with Peeps Marshmallow Chicks for the perfect festive Easter touch.

Store the cake tightly covered at room temperature. Avoid refrigerating it — that can make the cereal firm and lose its chewy texture.
Yes! You can make it 1 day in advance. Just wait to add the Peeps and extra cereal topping until closer to serving for the freshest look.

For the Rice Krispie treats:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter ½ stick of butter
- 1 ½ 10 oz. bags mini marshmallows
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 teaspoons vanilla
- 5 cups Rice Krispies
- 1 cup Fruity Pebbles
For the Marshmallow frosting:
- ½ cup butter room temperature
- 7 oz Marshmallow Fluff
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 drops blue gel food coloring
- 3-4 tbsp additional Fruity Pebbles
- 9 Peeps Marshmallow Chicks
Instructions
- Spray the bottom of a 9" tart pan or pie pan with non-stick spray and place a circle cut out of parchment paper in the middle of the pan. Spray the parchment paper and side of the pan again and set aside.
- Add the butter to a large pot.
- Once the butter has melted, stir in 1 bag of marshmallows until it is melted and combined with the butter on medium-low heat.
- Take the pot off of the stove and mix in the vanilla and salt into the melted marshmallow mixture.
- Place the Rice Krispies, Fruity Pebbles, and 1/2 bag of marshmallows into the pot and combine thoroughly.
- Spoon the mixture into the tart pan and press down with a greased spatula to level. Wait 1 hour before adding toppings.
- While the rice krispie treats set, make the marshmallow buttercream frosting. Place the butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat together until fluffy, about 1-2 minutes.
- With a silicone spatula, fold in the marshmallow fluff and vanilla. Combine thoroughly. You can also add a few drops of food coloring in pastel colors into the frosting.
- Once the rice krispie treats are set, spoon the marshmallow frosting into a piping bag. Starting at the center of the pan, pipe frosting onto the rice krispie treats in a circular motion until the edges are reached.
- Place additional Fruity Pebbles and Marshmallow Peeps atop the frosting and serve immediately.
