  • Quick to make: It takes about 10 minutes to mix everything together.

  • Easy to make ahead: Prepare it earlier in the day and keep it refrigerated until you’re ready to serve.

What are the ingredients for a fluffy pumpkin dip?

  • Cream cheese – Let it soften to room temperature so it blends smoothly without any lumps.
  • Vanilla pudding mix – Use instant vanilla pudding mix to add sweetness and help give the dip its thick, creamy texture.
  • Pumpkin puree – A 15-ounce can gives the dip plenty of pumpkin flavor. Be sure to use pure pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Pumpkin pie spice – Adds the cinnamon, nutmeg and warm spices that give this dessert its classic fall flavor.
  • Cool Whip – Thawed whipped topping makes this dessert dip recipe light and fluffy.
Five ingredients for a pumpkin cream cheese dip—whipped topping, cream cheese, pumpkin pie spice, vanilla pudding mix, and canned pumpkin—are arranged on a fall-themed cloth next to a large empty mixing bowl.

How to Make Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip

  • Let the cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before mixing soften, this helps avoid lumps and makes the dip ultra creamy.
  • Start by beating cream cheese until smooth, then mix in pumpkin puree and spices.
  • Fold in Cool Whip until light and creamy.
  • Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for the best flavor!

What to Serve with Pumpkin Dip

Pair your dip with anything crunchy, sweet or slightly salty. Try serving it with:

  • Graham crackers – A classic choice that gives it that fall cheesecake flavor.
  • Gingersnap cookies – The warm spices pair perfectly with pumpkin.
  • Vanilla wafers – Simple, sweet and great for scooping.
  • Apple slices – A fresh option that adds a little crunch.
  • Pretzels – The salty-sweet combination is especially good with the creamy dip.
  • Cinnamon sugar pita chips – Crunchy and sturdy enough for dipping.
  • Shortbread cookies – Buttery cookies work well with the pumpkin spice flavors.
  • Animal crackers – A fun option if you’re serving the dip to kids.
  • Biscoff cookies – Their caramelized spice flavor goes really well with pumpkin.

For a party, make a platter with a mix of cookies, fresh apple slices and pretzels so everyone has a few options to choose from.

Can pumpkin dip be made ahead of time?

Yes. Pumpkin dip is a great make-ahead dessert. Prepare it up to 1–2 days in advance, cover it tightly and keep it refrigerated. Give it a quick stir before serving.

Can I freeze pumpkin dip?

Freezing pumpkin dip isn’t recommended because the cream cheese and whipped topping can separate and change texture once thawed. For the best fluffy texture, keep it refrigerated.

Can I make pumpkin dip without cream cheese?

Yes, but it won’t have the same cheesecake flavor or thick, creamy texture. For a lighter pumpkin dessert dip, you can use Greek yogurt in place of the cream cheese, although the flavor and consistency will be different.
