S’mores Cheese Ball: A Sweet No-Bake Treat Everyone Will Love

A S’mores Cheese Ball is one of those fun dessert ideas that instantly gets everyone gathered around and grabbing graham crackers.

It’s like campfire magic without the fire — sweet, creamy, chocolatey, and covered in mini marshmallows for that full s’mores flavor.

Whether you’re planning a cozy night in, hosting a summer get-together, or looking for something unique to bring to a potluck, this recipe is a total crowd-pleaser.

You can shape it into a ball for presentation or serve it in a bowl for a more casual vibe.

Either way, it’s going to disappear fast—so don’t forget to sneak a bite before it’s gone!

To make your dessert cheese ball, you’ll mix together room temperature cream cheese (this helps everything mix together smoothly and gives the cheeseball a creamy texture without lumps), marshmallow fluff, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and fluffy, then fold in mini chocolate chips and marshmallow bits.

After shaping the mixture into a ball using plastic wrap, it chills in the fridge until firm enough to coat. Refrigerating the cheeseball for at least 1–2 hours helps it firm up enough to coat (and hold its shape).

The finishing touch? A sweet and crunchy outer layer made from crushed graham crackers, more chocolate chips, and marshmallow bits.

Take the cheeseball out of the fridge about 15–20 minutes before serving so it’s soft enough to scoop and dip.

How far in advance can I make a s’mores cheeseball?

You can make it up to 2 days ahead of time! Just store it tightly wrapped in the fridge and add the coating shortly before serving.

Can I freeze it?

Freezing isn’t recommended—it may affect the texture. Stick with refrigerating instead.

What if it’s too soft to coat?

Pop it back in the fridge for another 30 minutes. It’s a soft dessert by nature, but chilling helps make it more manageable.

What should I serve with a s’mores cheeseball?

Graham crackers are a must, but you can also try vanilla wafers, Teddy Grahams, chocolate chip cookies, pretzels, apple slices, or strawberries.

For a fun touch, add marshmallows or broken pieces of chocolate bars.

Serve it all on a dessert board for an easy, crowd-pleasing treat!

    Ingredients

    • 16 oz Packages Cream Cheese
    • ½ Cup Marshmallow Fluff
    • ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
    • 1 tsp Vanilla
    • ½ Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
    • ½ Cup Dehydrated Marshmallows if dehydrated marshmallows are unavailable mini marshmallows cut into 4ths can be substituted
    • 5 Graham Crackers
    • Cup Mini Chocolate Chips
    • Cup Dehydrated Marshmallows

    Instructions

    • In the bowl of an electric mixer combine cream cheese and marshmallow fluff until light and fluffy, add in vanilla and gradually mix in powdered sugar.
    • Add in marshmallows and chocolate chips and gently fold until evenly distributed through the cream cheese mixture.
    • Lay out plastic wrap on a flat surface and scoop the mixture into the middle of it. Use the plastic wrap to help form a ball and wrap tightly.  Place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
    • After refrigerating it is time to coat the cheeseball.
    • Place your graham crackers in a large zip seal baggie and using a rolling pin or mallet crush them into crumbs.
    • Now it’s time to coat the cheeseball. There are a couple of ways to approach it, so you can pick the one that works best for you. This is a relatively soft cheeseball, even after refrigeration so don’t be alarmed when you unwrap it if it seems soft.
    • You can mix together the graham cracker crumbs, marshmallows and chocolate chips on a plate an roll the cheeseball around in the mixture to coat it, this can be messy, but is quick and gets a pretty even coating of everything. (technique pictured)
    • Or you can place the cheeseball on a plate and press the graham cracker crumbs onto the outside. Then brush off the excess and press the chocolate chips and marshmallows onto the outside. This way makes it easier to keep the shape of the cheeseball and control the distribution of chocolate chips and marshmallows.
    • Serve immediately with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, animal crackers or any other cookie that compliments the s’mores flavor.
    • To make this in advance you can make the cheeseball and keep it refrigerated for up to a couple of days and coat right before serving.
    • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container.

    Notes

To store a leftover s’mores dessert cheeseball, just follow these easy steps:
Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container to keep it from drying out or picking up fridge odors.
Refrigerate it for up to 3–4 days. The texture may soften slightly, but it’ll still taste amazing!
Pro Tip: If you’ve already added the graham cracker coating, it might get a little soft over time. For best texture, scrape off the outer layer and re-roll in fresh topping just before serving again!

    1. Have you tried freezing this recipe? Just asking because most cheese balls you can freeze then defrost prior to putting the outer crust or pecans or etc on them
