Start by mixing your dry ingredients — flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

Then cream together the softened butter and sugar until it’s nice and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, followed by a splash of vanilla. You’ll alternate adding the vanilla yogurt and flour mixture until your batter is smooth and creamy.

Pour it into a greased bundt pan, swirl in your favorite jam (this is where that sweet berry flavor shines!), and bake until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

Once cooled, slice it up and serve with vanilla ice cream, fresh berries, and a sprig of mint for that extra pop.

Tips for Baking Berry Pound Cake

  • Make sure your butter, eggs, and yogurt are at room temperature for a smooth, even batter.
  • Don’t overmix: Mix just until the batter is combined to avoid a dense cake.
  • Grease the pan well. Bundt pans can be tricky, so use baking spray with flour or grease and flour every nook and cranny.
  • To make the swirl, a butter knife works well, but a toothpick can give you a more delicate jam swirl.
  • If your jam is too thick, warm it up for a few seconds in the microwave to make it easier to swirl.
  • Let it cool completely before removing it from the pan to prevent sticking or crumbling.

Fruit Toppings for Pound Cake

These toppings add freshness, flavor, and a beautiful presentation:

  • Sliced strawberries with a sprinkle of sugar
  • Mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
  • Sliced peaches or nectarines for a summery twist
  • Caramelized apples with cinnamon
  • Cherries (fresh or jarred) with a little syrup
  • Lemon curd with thin lemon slices
  • Berry compote warmed up and spooned over each slice
Do I have to use a bundt pan?

You can use a loaf or 9×13 pan, but baking times will vary—start checking around the 40-minute mark.

What kind of jam should I use?

You can use just about any jam you love, but mixed berry jam is a classic choice for that sweet-tart flavor. Raspberry preserves add a bold, tangy swirl, while strawberry jam brings a sweeter, more traditional taste. Blueberry jam gives a rich, deep berry flavor, and blackberry jam adds a touch of tartness. Don’t be afraid to get creative—mix two jams together for a fun twist!
