How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookies in the Air Fryer

  • Start by creaming butter with white and brown sugar, then add in an egg and vanilla.
  • Mix in a simple flour blend with baking powder and salt, and fold in chocolate chunks.
  • Drop scoops of dough into a greased air fryer basket, just be sure not to overcrowd the basket. Bake in small batches (about 6 cookies at a time) so the air circulates evenly.
  • Cook until the edges are crisp and the centers stay soft. Air fryers vary, so start checking your cookies at the 8-minute mark to prevent overbaking.
  • Cool on a rack and enjoy warm, fresh-baked cookies!
Can you freeze air fryer chocolate chip cookie dough?

Yes! Scoop dough into balls, freeze on a tray, then transfer to a bag. Bake from frozen, adding 1–2 extra minutes.

Can I use parchment paper in the air fryer?

Absolutely—just make sure it’s perforated or cut to fit so it doesn’t block airflow.

How long to cook chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer?

Most chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer take about 8–10 minutes at 350°F. The exact time can vary depending on your air fryer model, cookie size, and how soft or crisp you like them. Always check at the lower end of the time range—cookies should look golden brown on the edges but slightly soft in the center. They’ll firm up as they cool.

Why are my cookies too hard?

They likely overbaked. Air fryer cookies continue to firm up as they cool.

Can I put raw cookie dough in an air fryer?

Yes! You can air fry raw cookie dough just like you would bake it in the oven.

    Ingredients

    • cup White Sugar
    • 1 cup Brown sugar
    • pinch Salt
    • cup Butter
    • 1 tsp Vanilla
    • 1 Egg
    • 1 cup all purpose flour plus an additional 2 tbsp
    • 1 tsp Baking powder
    • cup Milk chocolate chunks

    Instructions

    • Preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees F.
    • Grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray oil and set aside.
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
    • Add egg, then stir in vanilla extract.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt;
    • Gradually add dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
    • Finally, fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
    • Using a cookie scoop or spoon drop chocolate chip cookie dough onto the greased basket of air fryer in even amounts in small batches (about 6 per batch).
    • Air fry cookie dough for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown on top and crispy edges (no more than 10 minutes).
    • If they are still too soft or gooey, let them cook for another minute or two until they are golden brown around the edges but still slightly soft on top — this will ensure that they don’t get too hard when cooled down.
    • Once they are ready, transfer them onto a cooling rack before digging in!

    Notes

Keep cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months.
