How to Make Patriotic Oreo Balls

  • Start by crushing regular Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or a rolling pin and a plastic bag.
  • Combine the crumbs with softened cream cheese and mix until smooth.
  • Roll the mixture into small 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Freeze for about 15-20 minutes to firm up and prevent crumbs from getting into the melted chocolate.

  • Melt white chocolate wafers in the microwave in short increments, stirring in between.
  • Once the Oreo balls are chilled, dip each one in the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated.
  • Let the excess drip off before placing them back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Melt red candy wafers, transfer them to a piping bag or plastic bag, and drizzle over the truffles in a back-and-forth motion.
  • Before the coating sets, sprinkle on some red, white, and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
  • Refrigerate the truffles for at least 30 minutes before serving. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.

Can you freeze oreo balls?

Absolutely! Freeze them in a sealed container for up to 2 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Do Oreo balls need to be refrigerated?

Yes. Because they contain cream cheese, store them in the refrigerator in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Why are my Oreo balls too soft to roll?

The mixture may be too warm or slightly overmixed. Chill it for 15–20 minutes and try again.
