Looking for a dessert everyone will love? Try these Red, White and Blue Oreo Truffles! These easy treats are one of the easiest recipes if you are an oreo fan!

The best part is once you get the basic recipe down, you can customize these for any holiday!

These Oreo truffles make such a great addition to any dessert table. I make a big batch so I can serve them scattered around Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Red, White and Blue Cupcakes, a Red, White and Blue Trifle, Firecracker Jello Cups and Patriotic Whoopie Pies during our 4th of July get togethers.

The kids love making these sweet treats. The first time I had this dessert recipe, I thought it was one of the most delicious recipes.

I love how when you take a bite you get a sweet crunch of the candy coating followed by the Oreo filling. These Oreo Truffle balls quickly became our favorite treat. One of the best things about these easy oreo truffles are they are a
no bake recipe!

How to Make Red, White & Blue Oreo Truffles

Key Ingredients:

oreo truffles

You can get your oreo crumbs a couple of different ways: With a food processor or by hand with a rolling pin and a zippered bag. You will want to crush the whole Oreo, cream center included into fine crumbs!

Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

In a stand mixer or large mixing bowl, mix block of cream cheese and cookie crumbs until blended. Be sure to scrape the side of the bowl.

Using a small cookie scoop, roll dough into 48 small balls (about 1-inch balls) and place onto your cookie sheet.

Freeze for 10-15 min, any longer will freeze your truffles too long and cause the chocolate to crack.

Add white chocolate to a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 1 minute increments, until melted, stirring between each heat session.

I prefer the Ghirardelli brand of melting chocolate as they melt the easiest and harden the best, but the Wilton brand works really well as well! If you choose to use white chocolate chips, you will need to add coconut oil to set the chocolate.

Dip truffles into melted chocolate coating and place truffles in a single layer in shallow waxed paper-lined pan or on a wire rack on top of a prepared baking sheet to catch the excess chocolate drip.

Add red candy melts to a plastic bag or pastry bag and heat in 30 second increments until melted, kneading the bag in between each heat session.

Snip off the very corner of the bag, and using a back and forth motion, drizzle over each OREO cookie ball.

Add sprinkles while red candy is still hot and before the chocolate sets.

Place in refrigerator for 1 hour until firm.

Once you get the basic oreo truffle recipe down, you can make them for any occassion or add additional ingredients. For example, crushed candy canes or Peppermint Oreos make Peppermint Oreo Truffles.

Recipe Notes

How to Store Truffles

Keep your Oreo truffles in the refrigerator in an air-tight container.

How Long do Chocolate Truffles last?

Chocolate truffles can last for quite a while if they’re stored in a cool, dark place. Ideally, you should keep them in a fridge or freezer. However, if you store them at room temperature, they’ll last for about a week or two. So, if you’re looking to keep your chocolate truffles around for a special occasion, it’s best to store them in the fridge or freezer. Just be sure to let them come to room temperature before enjoying!
