A simple vanilla cake mix quickly can be turned into the best crumb cake recipe ever! Serve with a cup of coffee or tea and you will be in heaven!
A long, long time ago (probably over a decade ago), this crumb cake recipe made its way to me. My mother’s coworker had shared it with her after she loved it so much in the office one day. Those were the days where most of my recipes came from cookbooks and magazines versus Pinterest.
Funny thing is, this was one of the very first recipes on this blog! This really is the best crumb cake recipe EVER.
This crumb cake recipe is the best thanks to buttery and and sweet cake and then paired with the layer of crunchy, cinnamon-y topping. The topping is my favorite part to be honest! Pour yourself a cup of coffee you’ve got yourself a match made in heaven!
This crumb cake recipe starts with your favorite yellow cake mix and a box of vanilla instant pudding mix and then goes on from there.
Making the crumbs are super fun! The crumbs are made out of melted butter, flour, sugar and cinnamon. Then they are crumbled right onto top of the warm cake and baked.
Don’t forget to give this crumb cake recipe a dusting of powdered sugar when it’s all finished!
