Do you have to peel apples to bake?

Will apples soften in the oven?

Yes, apples will soften in the oven when they are baked. The heat from the oven causes the cell walls of the apple’s flesh to break down, resulting in a soft and tender texture. This softening process is desirable in many baked goods like pies, crisps, and cobblers, as it creates a delicious and melt-in-your-mouth quality in the final dish. The extent to which apples soften can vary depending on the type of apple used, the baking time, and the specific recipe, but in general, baking apples is an effective way to transform them into a delightful, cooked state.

How can I prevent baked apples from becoming too mushy?

To prevent overcooking, check for doneness by poking the apples with a fork or knife. They should be tender but not overly soft.
