How to Make Chocolate Covered Oreos into Snowmen
- Chill the cookies before decorating to help the icing set faster and keep decorations from sliding.
- Work in small batches. Decorate 3–4 cookies at a time to keep the icing sticky enough for the candy eyes and nose to grip.
- Draw an earmuff band on each cookie, then attach matching M&M candies as earmuffs.
- Add candy eyes with a dab of icing, place half of an orange M&M for the nose, and finish by drawing on a smile.
- Let everything dry completely. Allow the icing to harden before stacking or storing so the faces stay intact.

No—refrigeration isn’t necessary and can actually cause condensation on the chocolate. Keep them at room temperature unless your kitchen is very warm, and even then, store them in a cool, dry place rather than the fridge if possible.
Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature. Separate layers with parchment or wax paper to protect decorations and prevent sticking. Store them away from heat and direct sunlight so the chocolate stays smooth and firm.
You can freeze them, but it’s not ideal. Freezing may cause the chocolate to crack or develop condensation when thawed, which can lead to smudged decorations and color bleeding. If you must freeze them, wrap tightly and thaw slowly in the fridge before bringing them to room temperature.
When stored properly at room temperature, they’ll stay fresh for about 2–3 weeks. If decorated with candies or icing, they’re best enjoyed within 7–10 days for the crispest texture.
