Recipe for Mini Deep Dish Pizzas

Looking for an easy dinner idea? This Mini Deep Dish Pizza recipe can be made in a few delicious varieties that the whole family can enjoy for a quick and easy dinner, game day or an after school snack!

My kids are getting older and now as they enter the pre-teen years, I can hardly keep them satisfied long enough to hold over to the next meal. I have had to really change what I feed them, so a lunch or after school snack like these mini deep dish pizzas has become a savior. Since regular pizza is their favorite food, these are a win!

Besides for lunch and snacks, I love that I don’t have to worry about taking the time to make our pizza dough when it’s pizza night. If you do Pizza Fridays like my family does, easy recipe for a busy weeknight. Deep dish pizza is more of a Chicago style versus a New York-style pizza, so a mini Chicago-style pizza!

Make Your Own Mini Deep Dish Pizzas!

You can use your own ideas and own toppings to make little pizzas with different flavors. Use your favorite pizza toppings, switch to a mini muffin pan, or add ingredients like: Red pepper flakes, Parmesan Cheese, diced bell pepper, diced red onion, swap out the pepperoni for turkey pepperoni, use buffalo sauce instead of tomato sauce and more.

The best part about these mini deep-dish pizzas is that it’s such a great recipe that the whole family can customize to what they like on their pizza! And the total time in the oven is just 10 minutes before you have some cheesy goodness!

Add a thin layer of pizza sauce to the bottom of each cup. Add shredded cheese and pepperoni slices.

Top your mini pizzas with more mozzarella cheese and more pepperoni on top of the cheese.

Be sure to only fill the each pizza in the muffin tin about ½-¾ of the way up the sides of the cup, so it has room to rise.

How to Freeze Your Mini Deep Dish Pizzas

I love to make these pizzas ahead of time and then pull out some to enjoy when the kids want a quick lunch or snack. After they have been baked, I let them cool. Then on a prepared baking sheet, I add the pizzas. After they have frozen, I add them to a freezer safe ziplock bag. They will stay fresh for 2-3 months (if they last that long).

When you are ready to enjoy your mini pizzas, pull out how many you need and reheat in the oven, microwave or air fryer.
