To make the salad, finely chop broccoli florets and stems into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large bowl.

Shortcut tip: Grab a bag of pre-chopped broccoli florets to save time.

Add diced onions, sunflower seeds, cranberries, cheddar cheese, and crumbled crispy bacon, then stir to combine. Crispy bacon is key. Cook your bacon until it’s very crisp so it stays crunchy after mixing.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayo, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice to make the dressing. Pour the dressing over the salad and fold everything together until evenly coated.

For best flavor, refrigerate the salad for at least 30 minutes before serving so the flavors meld.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes! This salad actually tastes better after a few hours in the fridge. Just wait to add the bacon until right before serving to keep it crispy.

Can I make this salad without mayo?

You can substitute plain Greek yogurt or a half-and-half mix of yogurt and mayo for a lighter version.
