Burnt Ends Baked Beans Recipe

Burnt ends baked beans is a savory side dish packed with flavor. This recipe combines sweet and smoky flavors for an easy to make but impressive dish that your guests will love.

I’m not sure if there’s anything more quintessentially BBQ than burnt ends. And I’m not talking about the meat – although that’s pretty delicious too. I’m talking about the crispy, blackened ends of a brisket or pork butt that people fight over at potlucks and family gatherings.

But what to do with the leftovers? Transform them into baked beans, of course! A great way to combine two of American barbecue restaurant favorites!

Burnt Ends Baked Beans is the perfect recipe for any barbecue lover. These beans are packed with flavor, and the burnt ends add a delicious smoky taste.

What are Burnt Ends?

Burnt ends are the flavorful bits of meat that come from smoking or grilling meats. Burned ends are the crisp, caramelized pieces of meat that are cut from the ends of a smoked brisket. The name comes from the fact that these pieces are literally “burnt” on the outside, but they’re also incredibly flavorful and tender thanks to all that smoke exposure.

They’re often considered to be one of the best parts of the roast, as they’re packed with flavor and tend to be very tender. They’re made by cooking the meat (usually brisket or pork) over a high heat until it’s well-done, then chopping it into small pieces and basting it with barbecue sauce.

What to Eat with Baked Beans

Baked beans are so much better when they’re accompanied by other food. And not just any old food, but specifically designed to complement the baked beans’ flavors.

  • Add them to chili or soup for extra heartiness.
  • The classic side dish of cornbread is a must with baked beans. The cornbread soaks up all the delicious bean juice and makes for a delicious and satisfying meal.
  • A favorite comfort food like Frito Pie
  • Hot Dogs
  • For a heartier meal, try serving them with pulled pork or steak.
