- Be careful not to overmix so the biscuits stay light and tender.
- Gently pat the dough out, cut the biscuits with a sharp cutter (without twisting), or drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet to make drop biscuits for a rustic look.
- Brush the tops generously with honey butter before baking, then bake until golden brown for flaky, buttery biscuits with a deliciously sweet glaze.
- Planning ahead? Here’s how to freeze biscuits so you always have homemade biscuits ready to bake.

Yes. You can prepare the biscuit dough up to one day ahead and refrigerate it before baking, or bake the biscuits completely and reheat them just before serving. Brush on fresh honey butter after warming for the best flavor.
The most common reasons include your butter wasn’t cold, the dough was overmixed or rolled too thin, baking powder wasn’t fresh or the biscuit cutter was twisted instead of pressed straight down.
