    Ingredients

    Dump Cake

    • 1 cup all purpose flour
    • ¾ cup white granulated sugar
    • ½ cup cocoa powder
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • ¼ teaspoon salt
    • ½ cup milk
    • ¼ cup vegetable oil
    • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
    • ¾ cup brown sugar
    • ½ cup chopped pecans
    • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
    • 1 ¾ cup hot water

    Toppings

    • Whipped Cream
    • Ice Cream
    • Cherries

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
    • In a mixing bowl make the chocolate cake mix by adding the flour, sugar, ¼ cup of the cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
    • Whisk all the dry ingredients together until combined.
    • Then add the wet ingredients – milk, vegetable oil and vanilla. 
    • Whisk together until a thick batter forms. 
    • Add this to a 9×9 cake pan, prepped with baking spray. Spread evenly in the bottom of the pan.
    • Sprinkle the brown sugar and cocoa powder on top of the cake batter evenly.
    • Now pour the hot water into the dish. Do not stir anything together. 
    • Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans throughout the dish.
    • Bake in the oven for 40 minutes. You will now its done with there is a brownie crust layer formed on the top.
    • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes, allowing the gooey part of the sundae dump cake to thicken into a pudding.
    • Top the warm cake with your favorite ice cream toppings such as a scoop of your favorite ice cream, maraschino cherries and more nuts.
