How to Make Valentines Day Truffles

Start by crushing Oreos and mixing them with softened cream cheese to create a smooth truffle base.

Place the Oreos in a food processor and blend until they’re finely crushed. If you don’t have a food processor, place them in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin.

Scoop the cookie mixture onto parchment paper, press it into a 1/2-inch layer, and cut out heart shapes with a mini cookie cutter. Chill for an hour.

Place the dipped and decorated truffles back on the lined baking sheet and refrigerate until the chocolate is set.

Once they’re set, you’ll have adorable, delicious truffles perfect for Valentine’s Day.

How long can chocolate truffles stay unrefrigerated?

Generally truffles can stay unrefrigerated for up to 2-3 hours, depending on the temperature. However, for best results, keep truffles refrigerated until shortly before serving or gifting.

What is the best chocolate to use for truffles?

High-quality chocolate is essential for truffles. Look for chocolate that has a higher cocoa butter content and melts smoothly, resulting in a glossy finish, such as Ghirardelli.

How to pack homemade truffles?

Use small gift boxes, tins, or clear cellophane bags to display them. Line the container with parchment paper or colorful tissue and place each truffle in a mini cupcake liner to keep them separated and prevent smudging. If you’re gifting, add a ribbon or tag for a personal touch. Keep them cool during transport, especially if they’ll be out for extended periods.

Looking for an easy Valentine’s Day recipe? These truffles are not only quick and simple to make, but they also look stunning for festive celebrations!

Ingredients

  • 1 package 36 Oreos
  • 8 oz. cream cheese softened
  • 2 24 oz packages of white almond bark or melting chocolate
  • Valentines sprinkles
  • Mini heart cookie cutter

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Process Oreos (including filling) in your food processor, until you have an Oreo "sand". If you don't have a food processor, I recommend putting them into a large plastic zipper storage bag and crushing them with something heavy, like a rolling pin.
  3. In a large bowl, combine crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese.
  4. Mix together with your hands until well combined.
  5. Take a piece of parchment paper and lay a big heaping spoonful of the cookie mixture.
  6. Fold over the parchment and press the cookie mix into about a 1/2 inch layer.
  7. Using your mini heart cookie cutter, cut out cookie shapes.
  8. Repeat until all of the mixture has been cut into heart shapes.
  9. Chill them in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  10. Then, melt almond bark or chocolate in the microwave on 30 second intervals, stirring well between.
  11. Dip Oreo hearts into the melted almond bark/chocolate and place back onto the parchment.
  12. Coat oreo heart truffles with Valentines sprinkles immediately, before the coating dries.
  13. Chill your oreo Heart truffles again in the refrigerator until the coating is set. Enjoy!
