How to Make Yogurt Bark:

  • Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, stir together your favorite yogurt, vanilla extract, and honey until smooth and creamy. If your berries are extra sweet, you may not need as much honey. Taste the yogurt mixture before spreading it and adjust as needed.
  • Spread the mixture into a thin, even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle your favorite toppings over the yogurt—fresh berries like strawberries and blueberries, crunchy granola, nuts, or even chocolate chips—pressing them in gently so they stick.
  • Place the pan in the freezer for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely firm.
  • Once frozen, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes, then break it into bite-sized pieces with your hands or a sharp knife.

How long should you freeze yogurt bark?

Yogurt bark should freeze for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely firm. If your layer is thicker, it may take closer to 4 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when it’s fully solid and easily lifts from the parchment paper.

What is the best yogurt for yogurt bark?

Thick, full-fat Greek yogurt works best for yogurt bark. It creates a creamy texture and freezes more smoothly than regular yogurt. Nonfat or regular yogurt can work, but the bark may turn out a bit more icy.

Do you keep yogurt bark in the freezer?

Yes, yogurt bark should always be stored in the freezer. It softens quickly at room temperature, so keep it in an airtight container or zip-top bag in the freezer and only take out what you plan to eat.

Do you need parchment paper for yogurt bark?

Yes, parchment paper is highly recommended. It prevents sticking and makes it easy to lift and break the bark once frozen. Wax paper can work in a pinch, but parchment gives the best results.

How thick should yogurt bark be?

Spread the yogurt about ¼-inch thick in an even layer. If it’s too thick, it will be harder to bite into straight from the freezer. A thinner layer freezes faster and gives you that perfect crisp snap when you break it apart.

    Notes

    How to Store Yogurt Bark:
It should always be stored in the freezer to keep it firm and fresh. Once you’ve broken it into pieces, transfer the bark to an airtight container or a zip-top freezer bag. For best results, place a sheet of parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.
Keep the container sealed tightly to avoid freezer burn and to protect the flavor. It’s best enjoyed within 1–2 weeks for the creamiest texture and freshest taste. When you’re ready to eat, simply remove a piece from the freezer and enjoy right away—it softens quickly at room temperature.
