TikTok Viral Baked Oats Recipe

Could you imagine a healthy breakfast that tastes almost like cake?! That’s just what the tik tok viral baked oats recipe is! Here’s how you make them.

You all know how much I love my breakfast recipes. Unfortunately after too many months of enjoying waffles and breakfast treats, I’ve had to change my morning eating habits.

The viral baked oats recipe from TikTok has become one of my favorite recipes to start the day. The first time I enjoyed this recipe, I knew why it had a 5 star rating! Viral recipes have really overtaken social media lately and I love it.

The whole family can enjoy this delicious recipe for breakfast or with brunch recipes. This has even become one of my favorite breakfast for dinner options.

I love a warm, hearty breakfast, like instant oatmeal. But I’m not very good at making it. Sometimes regular oatmeal can give you trouble, I know my oatmeal recipe is usually too runny or too thick with a mushy texture.

I love that this easy recipe has everything made right in your blender and then poured into a cake pan.

You will see in this great recipe, I am using the flavor combinations of blueberry, lemon and white chocolate. It’s so fresh and springy.

The best thing about this recipe is that you can try your favorite toppings to enjoy this quick breakfast idea – peanut butter or almond butter, fresh berries, a little brown sugar, bananas, dark chocolate chips, mini chocolate chips, cocoa powder, greek yogurt, protein powder, there are so many different ways to create a different flavor to make this recipe your own version!

All of the ingredients for your baked oats are pretty simple ingredients you will find right in your pantry. The oatmeal mixture makes this such a nutrient dense recipe with whole grains and a handful of healthy ingredients that will have you feeling full all morning long.

When we blend the oat mixture making it into oat flour, the end result is a cake-like texture that is light and airy. A great thing about this recipe is that it doesn’t take a long time to make a delicious breakfast, no longer than making a bowl of oatmeal or overnight oats.

You’re probably wondering how this is any different than baked oatmeal. The big takeaway is that we’re blending the oats into a flour with baked oats.

How to Make TikTok Baked Oats

Be sure to read the printable recipe card because that is where I have the full recipe instructions, ingredient list and recommended products.

Equipment:

  • 8×8 casserole dish, individual ramekins
  • Food processor or blender. I use the Ninja Blender.

Main Ingredients:

baked oats
  • oats – regular oats like old-fashioned oats, rolled oats or quick oats. Steel cut oats will not work.
  • maple syrup
  • milk
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • baking powder
  • vanilla extract
  • cinnamon
  • salt (pinch)
  • Toppings: blueberries, white chocolate chips, lemon zest

Prepare the pan: Use cooking spray, butter or coconut oil along the entire depth of the baking pan so your oats do not stick.

Blend: Blend all of your wet ingredients and dry ingredients (minus the toppings) in a food processor or blender until everything is smooth.

Pour: Pour your oats into your greased baking dish.

How to Make Your Baked Oats Vegan:

  • 1 large ripe banana (to replace the egg or you can use flax egg or your favorite egg substitutes)
  • maple syrup
  • cup of milk (plant based as desired such as coconut milk, unsweetened almond milk or oat milk)
  • nut butter
  • vanilla
  • old fashioned oats
  • baking powder
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • cinnamon
  • optional mix-ins such as berries, chocolate chips, etc.

To cut your oats into bars:

Line the baking dish with parchment paper to easily lift from the dish out to cut. An 8×8 square baking dish is the max size baking dish to use, unless you double the recipe. This recipe serves 1-2 people. Serve your oats with fresh fruit.

Can I reheat baked oats?

Yes! Cover your baking dish with plastic wrap or in an airtight container and refrigerate it. When you’re ready to enjoy your oats, dish out a portion for yourself and microwave at 30 second interval until heated through.

Can I Use a different type of pan?

You sure can. You can use a muffin pan or muffin tin to make oatmeal cups or even pour your oats into a loaf pan. Just be sure to adjust the baking time.
