Why is it called pink sauce pasta?
It gets the name from its beautiful rosy color, which comes from mixing a creamy white sauce with a tomato-based red sauce. When the two blend together they create a soft pink hue that gives the dish its signature look.
What is pink sauce pasta made of?
This variation is made by combining Alfredo sauce with three cheese marinara sauce. The Alfredo brings creamy richness, while the marinara adds tomato depth and savory, cheesy flavor. When the two come together, they create the perfect blush-pink sauce—smooth, balanced, and incredibly easy to make.

How to make pasta with pink sauce in the crock pot?
- Start by combining one jar of Alfredo sauce and one jar of three cheese pasta sauce to create that creamy, rosy base.
- Pour both sauces into the crock pot, then place 1 pound of chicken breast directly into the mixture.
- Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours, until the chicken is tender enough to shred.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken right in the crock pot so it soaks up all that flavorful pink sauce.

- About 15 minutes before the chicken is finished cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside until you’re ready to stir them into the crock pot.
- Stir in the cooked noodles along with the shredded cheese, reserving a bit of cheese for topping.
- Cover again and cook for about 20 minutes on high to melt everything together.
- Serve with the remaining cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley.
Kitchen Tip: Use rotini, penne, or bowties. These shapes hold the creamy pink sauce really well and don’t get soggy in the crock pot.
