- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare your loaf pan with non-stick spray.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl, then stir in the hard apple cider, cheese, and onion powder. Stir just until combined—overmixing can make the bread dense instead of fluffy.
- Pour the batter into the pan, brush with melted butter, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle more cheese on top and bake another 5–10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before slicing.

I’ve been wanting to try Angry Orchard hard cider for several months now, but haven’t had the chance yet. Now I have TWO reasons to buy some, to drink, and to make bread with!

Oh my…. I want to try this!
this looks very good and egg free…having just seen your site on pinterest am wondering what gf flour blend you use for your baking. thanks
Hi Jillian, I use Bob’s Red Mill GF All Purpose Flour.
Is xantham gum required when using GF flour?
It’s highly recommended. I spent years trying to bake without it and wondering why my GF baked goods were so eh. It gives it texture and moisture. A little goes a long way. Conversions are usually on the back of the bag.
Ok, you are officially my favorite cook. No contest LOL
LOL!!!! Well thank you for that honor!
This looks great! Will definitely try but most beer drinks are NOT gluten free so if you’re making this with the intention of gluten free please check the alcohol first!!
I’d say any beer I know of is NOT gluten free. Luckily, Angry Orchard is a hard cider and IS gluten free.
