Can dogs have applesauce?

Dogs can have small amounts of plain, unsweetened applesauce as an occasional treat. Avoid sweetened or sugar-free varieties, and check the label for xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. If your dog has dietary restrictions, ask your veterinarian before offering a new treat.

For a fun touch, use dog-themed cookie cutters or silicone molds to create shapes your dog will love. Smaller treats are great for training.

If your dog prefers crunchy treats, bake them a bit longer, keeping an eye on them so they don’t burn. For softer treats, reduce the cooking time slightly.

Can I add peanut butter to these treats?

Yes, peanut butter is a great add-in for flavor. Just be sure to use one that doesn’t contain xylitol, as it’s toxic to dogs.

What can I do if my dough is too sticky?

If the dough is too sticky to work with, gradually add flour until it’s easy to roll out and cut. Be sure not to add too much at once, as it could make the treats too dry.

  1. These sound great! Wanting to make these for Christmas for my friend’s fur babies. If using oat flour… what is the measurement? 5 1/2 c?

    1. The amount of flour would stay the same as the original recipe.

  2. If I add peanut butter, how much should I add?
