Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • ½ cup margarine or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 and 3/4 cup flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cream together sugar, shortening, margarine/butter and eggs in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Slowly add in the flour until well combined.
  4. Form 1 and 1/4 inch balls, roll in cinnamon sugar mixture, and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  5. Bake snickerdoodle cookies for 8-10 minutes until cookies are light brown.
  6. Let them sit on the sheet for 3-4 minutes then cool on wire racks.
  7. These snickerdoodle cookies are best to taste when warm.

Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage.
