How to Make Donut Holes with Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 1 8 count can of buttermilk biscuits
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 tbsp. milk

Instructions

  1. Open the biscuits, and cut biscuits into 4 pieces.
  2. Roll the pieces gently into balls.
    Bring the temperature of the oil up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit in a large heavy pot.
  3. Carefully drop the dough balls into the hot oil using a slotted spoon. Do about 4-5 pieces at a time to avoid over crowding them.
  4. Fry in small batches, about 4-5 pieces at a time to over-crowding, for 2-3 minutes, until golden brown.
  5. Remove from the oil onto a towel lined plate.
  6. For the glaze, in a mixing bowl whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk, until well combined.
  7. Place parchment or paper towels underneath a cooling rack.
  8. Drop the donut holes into the icing, and roll them around to coat.
  9. Place them onto the cooling rack to set.
  10. If desired, you can dip the donut holes once, allow them to set, and dip once more.
  11. Store leftover donut holes in an airtight container at room temperature.
