How to Make Ladybug Caprese Salad

Ladybug Caprese Salad is the cutest appetizer for spring and summer! Made with fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, basil, black olives, and balsamic glaze, these easy Caprese bites are perfect for parties, baby showers, Easter, birthdays, and holiday entertaining.

Ingredients

  • bocconcini or mozzarella sliced
  • sea salt
  • fresh basil
  • 8 cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 4 pitted black olives cut in quarters
  • balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Place a slice of mozzarella on a serving tray and sprinkle with a small pinch of sea salt.
  2. Top the mozzarella slices with a sweet basil leaf.                             
  3. Cut the tomato in half from top to bottom.
  4. Then make a small slit in each half to create the ladybug’s wings.                             
  5. Place the cherry tomato half on the basil.
  6. Place the olive piece on the lady bug's body too create a head.          
  7. Use a decorating tip or toothpick to place dots of a little balsamic glaze onto the backs of the ladybugs.
