Classic Spaghetti & Meatball Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp parsley
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper chopped
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes 28oz ea, drained
  • 2 cans tomato sauce 8oz ea
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1 can tomato paste 6oz
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tsp basil, oregano, parsley each
  • spaghetti, cooked according to directions

Instructions

  1. Combine the first 6 ingredients. Add beef and mix well. 


  2. Shape into eight meatballs, brown on all sides over medium heat. 

  3. Drain and set aside

  4. Cook sausage, onion, pepper, until tender. 

  5. In a large heavy pot, add sausage, vegetables, 1/2lb ground beef, meatballs. 

  6. Add tomatoes, sauce, broth, paste, garlic and seasonings

  7. Stir gently. Bring to a boil

  8. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 2-3 hours

  9. Serve over spaghetti.
