8 fun and cheap winter break activities you can do with the kids to keep them from saying “I’m bored” this winter!
With the winter holidays and Christmas around the corner, there are loads of fun activities to keep your kids occupied. Winter holidays are a great time for parents and family to spend with their kids. Here are a few activities you can do with your kids during this winter.
Build A Snowman
Building a snowman is one of the most thrilling and fun things kids like to do. Make sure your kids are well covered and wear their scarves and mittens.
You can build a single snowman or if you are having your family over, you can split the kids into two different teams and build a snowman using their creativity.
You can enhance your snowman features by using baseballs or carrots and an old hat. Twigs can be used to make the hands and legs.
Start by making balls out of the snow and stack it on top of each other. Then shape your snow into a snowman.
You can also make fun games using the snowman like who throws the hat on the snowman’s head correctly.
As cliche and simple as it sounds, making a snow angel will put a priceless smile and bring joy to our little ones. It is easy to make a snow angel, make your kid lie down on the snow, and move the now up and down by shaking your hand and legs simultaneously.
Snow Ball Fight
A fun game of snow dodgeball will be an entertaining experience for the whole family. Separate into two different teams and build a fort using the now. The team that hits the most people using the snowball wins.
Family Movie Night
When the weather is a bit extreme there are also a lot of fun activities you can do with your kids indoors. One such thing is a movie night. Gather around all the kids in the living room and watch a holiday kid themed movie with them.

Holiday Greeting Cards
With Christmas around the corner, you can make handmade greeting cards for your family and friends with your kids. Be sure to monitor your kids if they are using scissors or a glue gun. Kids love craft work and coloring and will have loads of fun.
Decorate Your Christmas Tree
Decorating your Christmas tree with your family is a wonderful tradition. You can ask your kids to make the ornaments on their own or let them decorate the tree with store bought ornaments. You can also set up fairy lights and glitter over the tree. We love making these applesauce cinnamon ornaments every year.
Kids will seem to be more interested and happy when they get to take part in the decorating as well.
Stick The Tail On The Cow
Take a large piece of chart paper or cardboard and cut it in the shape of a cow. You can even let the kids paint the cow if they like. Stick a piece of magnet on the tail part and on the tail. Then gather around and blindfold one kid at a time and see if they could stick the tail correctly on the cow. This game is sure to bring a lot of laughter and is a wonderful game to bond with your kids.
Bake Cookies Together
Believe it or not, kids love to cook. During the holidays you can bake sugar cookies and other treats with your kids. Be sure to monitor your kids well during this process and don’t let them near the oven. You can then decorate the cookies with icing and sprinkles together.
