4 Reasons to Dine at Piattino: Neighborhood Bistro
It seems my family never gets time to spend together. Enjoying a meal together is really important to me. Ideally, every night, but that has become expectations we cannot keep. So, once a week it is.
Last week, we spent Saturday night together at Piattino: Neighborhood Bistro in Summit, NJ. Piattino serves up modern twists to traditional Italian fare.
So why enjoy dinner at Piattino?
The drink menu!
With over 100 different wines at any given time and 8 beers on tap, I had a hard time choosing what to drink!
Piattino is also known locally for its delicious, hand-stretched Neapolitan style pizzas and sandizza’s (its own version of a Panini) baked at 800 degrees in its imported Italian stone-fired oven using premium ingredients, ranging from truffled wild mushrooms to 24-month-aged prosciutto di Parma.
The Regional Menu
Every 8 weeks or so, Piattino creates a special regional menu focusing on an area of Italy. This week’s menu was Ligura which is in the Northeastern section of Italy. They are known for their pesto since basil grows freely on the hillsides there.
The homemade pasta
Piattino sources artisan ingredients from around the world and our own backyard. We really enjoyed watching the pasta from the scratch-made, chef-driven menu being made right in front of us!
With its original location nestled in Historic Mendham and its newest location now open in Summit, Piattino brings its authentic, new age Italian dining experience directly to New Jersey.
