Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes

Sharing is caring!

Tampico is planning an exciting refresh to its brand later this spring, so in honor of its near 30-year history, we’re taking a look back with them on the past few decades and re-living our favorite moments. Join in with the nostalgia and fun and let us know what games, TV shows, foods and more you loved from your childhood in the comments!

One of my favorite memories of being a child was the sound of the ice cream man. I mean, that has to be a favorite for any child right? My favorite thing to buy from him? An Orange Creamsicle Pop! Now even all of those years later, that taste is still so delicious to me and I love to enjoy it in so many fun ways. Like in these Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes.

Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes

I’ve enjoyed the Orange Creamsicle flavor in a variety of foods like ice pops and smoothies. But, I had never made it into a cupcake. After enjoying some of our family’s favorite beverage, Tampico, I thought it would be a perfect ingredient to form into an Orange Creamsicle Cupcake!

Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes

After enjoying some of our family’s favorite beverage, Tampico, I thought it would be a perfect ingredient to form into an Orange Creamsicle Cupcake!

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3/4 cup Tampico Citrus Punch
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • Vanilla Frosting
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line muffin tin with cupcake liners
  2. Mix all ingredients together, minus the frosting.
  3. I prefer to use a small cookie scoop to fill my cupcake liners, but you can also use tablespoon. Fill each liner with 2 scoops.
  4. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let cool.

  6. Frost with Vanilla Frosting

These cupcakes are a flavor straight out of my childhood and I just loved sharing them with my family. My kids were thrilled when they came home from school to a sweet surprise.

I decided to use the Tampico Citrus Punch for this recipe because like an Orange Creamsicle, it’s a “Splash from my Past” and a drink I used to enjoy as a child. The powerful combination of orange, tangerine and lemon flavors is perfect for this recipe. These Orange Creamsicle Cupcakes are so light and airy!

So many memories came flashing by as you mentioned the ice cream truck. When we lived in the US it was one of the fondest memories. I would use the whole summer to try out new flavors almost every day! These muffins sound incredibly good - great idea to add the orange juice!

Now this is a cupcake that I'd love to try. I would have never thought about adding Tampico to a baked good, but I like the idea. These look so good!
