Throughout the Fall, delicious caramel apples can be found at fairs, festivals and farms. They are so fun to eat as a delicious fall treat. Did you know how quick, easy and inexpensive they are to make right at home? Here in the Northeast, pick-your-own farms are abundant with many varieties of apples, so use some farm fresh ones for added flavor!
- 1 (11oz) package of Kraft Caramels
- 5 apples – washed & dried
- A variety of toppings such as nuts, sprinkles, or mini m&m’s – get creative!
Place a stick in the stem of the apple,
Unwrap all of the caramels and place in a stockpot with 2 tbsp of water. Melt caramels on low heat. Be sure to keep stirring so your caramel doesn’t burn or stick – approximately 10 minutes.
Hold your apple by the stick and swirl it around the melted caramel to be sure to coat the entire thing. Add your toppings. Let apples sit on parchment paper for about an hour (do not refrigerate) to set.
