I recently had the opportunity to tour the 2019 Philadelphia Magazine Design Home located in Villanova PA. From a basketball court to the music room, this home has it all.
*Thank you to Xfinity for hosting me at the #XfinityMoms event and sponsoring this post.
How to Use Your Xfinity Smart Home Devices
Specifically, the Design Home is outfitted with Xfinity smart home devices. As an Xfinity customer myself, I really enjoyed learning more ways to use my services.
TV
You can also search for a particular actor and the guide will show you all of the movies they are in, whether on cable, Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.
That’s because apps like Prime Video and Netflix are now integrated through the X1 system, which means content from these streaming services is integrated alongside Xfinity On Demand, live and other content.
Did you know you can use the Xfinity Stream app to watch your entire channel line up while in your home, so you can watch your favorite tv content from your iPad or phone? The Xfinity Stream app also makes it easy to take content with you on the go – just download your favorite shows and movies in advance to watch when you’re offline.
My kids love the kids content or the games on Xfinity apps where you use your remote as a joy stick.
xFi
The big takeaways with Xfinity xFi are speed, coverage and control. With xFi you can set profiles for each family member and pair devices. For example, as a work-at-home-mom, I do most of my work at night when my children are asleep. I keep the wifi on my devices on, shutting off the kids’ devices until homework is completed the next day.
We find the wifi to be spotty in the back of our home, which is harder for the signal to reach. Thanks to the xFi pods, I can now extend the wifi range throughout my home.
Finally, need to know your wifi password? Just ask your Xfinity Voice Remote “what’s my password?” to show your wifi password on the tv screen.
Xfinity Home
You can use your Xfinity Voice Remote to arm and disarm your home, as well as use your remote to show your camera views on the television.
Or if you have “Works with Xfinity” smart lights you can use your Xfinity Home app to change the color of your lightbulbs throughout your home for a fun change in the mood!
I really enjoyed our tour at the Philly Mag Design Home! 100% of ticket sales benefit MANNA. Be sure to check out the website www.phillymag.com/designhome and take your tour through November 3rd.
