My friends and I are trying hard to get together more often! Spending time together just makes us all so happy and relaxed! We recently came up with the idea of hosting a monthly book club party. It works out great because we get some self-care time in by reading and then spending time with our friends!

How to Host a Book Club Party
Choose your host
We take turns hosting. At the end of each party, we choose names out of a hat who will be the next host. We meet during the day when our kids are at school since it’s the easiest not to have to coordinate after school schedules and babysitters.
Pick some discussion questions
A quick google search will lead you to some really awesome discussion questions for any book you are reading. You can find book specific questions or generic questions you can use for any book. This is our book club party host’s job to do get ready.
A big part of what we love about reading, is that is completely unplugged. Because of this, we like to keep our book club party unplugged too! No checking facebook or texting. Of course, since we are all moms, we get nervous when the phone rings so we do check to make sure it’s not our kids’ schools or our own moms.
Enjoy some tasty snacks
A party is not a party without snacks! We like to keep our snacks light, coffee and pastries or iced tea and finger foods are some of our favorite go-to’s. Or you might choose to pick some recipes or food ideas from the book you are discussing!
Choose a great book
This is one of the hardest parts of the party! It can be so hard to choose! Take a look at bestselling book lists, books your library is recommending, upcoming releases or stick with a theme. Choose a book that can easily be finished in a month.
My book club is currently reading The Girl He Used To Know by New York Times Bestselling Author Tracey Garvis Graves.
If you are looking for a gripping novel about second chance romance, you have to give The Girl He Used To Know a chance! It has been a long, long time since I have read a book that really made me feel like I knew the characters. I did not want to put the book down. Which, says a lot for me these days!
One of my biggest struggles lately is learning to love myself and who I am. We all are constantly looking to better ourselves and evolve, yet how do we do this without changing? The Girl He Used To Know was perfect for our book club this month by taking this topic head on.
The Girl He Used To Know is perfect for your spring break or summer beach reading too. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Girl He Used To Know for your next book club.
