How to Make the Perfect (and Healthy!) Smoothie
A berry smoothie is often most popular since you can use strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries for a fruity treat. Add crushed ice, pineapple juice, and a scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder for a sweet yet healthy treat!
1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (vanilla works best for this recipe)
6 ounces of pineapple juice
1 cup of mixed berries (you can use frozen berries too if you don’t have fresh handy)
Add all of your ingredients to a blender and pulse until your desired thickness. You can swap the pineapple juice for almond milk if you would like!
Another way to create a breakfast smoothie involves Greek yogurt. Try a container of raspberry yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, your favorite milk (mix it up with almond, cashew, or skim milk!), and ice.
Greek yogurt is a smart idea for breakfast or a snack since it helps keep you full longer. It also comes in a variety of flavors now so you can use raspberry, pineapple, blueberry, or plain.
Berry Yogurt Smoothie
1 container of Raspberry Greek yogurt
1 cup of strawberries
1 cup of blueberries
16 ounces of nonfat milk
Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until creamy. You can use frozen fruit for easy prep! Sometimes I skip ice and just use the frozen fruit since it blends up EXTRA cold.
You can also create a smoothie that is a healthy swap for a milkshake! Use chocolate flavored protein powder, milk, and crushed ice.
Want a boost of caffeine? Add a scoop of instant coffee!
2 scoops of chocolate protein powder
1 cup of skim milk (or try almond milk or cashew milk for fewer calories)
½ cup of crushed ice
1 cup of water
1 scoop of instant coffee
Blend all ingredients until smooth and enjoy. This can replace your morning cup of joe!
Since I like my coffee way too creamy and sugary, this is a nice alternative. It helps with those morning jitters and doesn’t give me a sugar crash later in the day.
