For years, I have been hearing about the goodness of green tea. I have to be honest, I never enjoyed it. That is until I met The Republic of Tea at the Summer Fancy Food Show while I was on the Mom Blog Tour.
Green Tea Bundt Cake
The Republic of Tea recommends two tea bags in hot water. You do not want your water boiling, instead it is done after the as the Chinese say the first puff of steam or as the Japanese say, after there are fish eye sized bubbles. Steep your tea bag for just three minutes, otherwise you will start to taste bitter notes.
The Republic of Tea emphasizes a “Sip by Sip Rather Than Gulp by Gulp” lifestyle, as for thousands of years, people have sipped green tea to stay healthy. The Mom Blog Tour had the chance to enjoy The Republic of Tea’s new collection of SuperGreen Teas. Organic Matcha, green tea leaves and functional herbs work together for extraordinary mind-body benefits such as boosting the immune system, improve cognitive function, aiding relaxation and weight loss. The goal of The Republic of Tea is for their tea to taste delicious with wellness as a bonus.

When I think about tea, I think about a slower pace. Sitting, relaxing, deep in thought, long conversations with friends. So, with that in mind I thought a Green Tea Bundt cake would be perfect to go along with a cup of The Republic of Tea Super Green Teas. I used Serenity because of it’s soothing qualities with calming lavender, holy basil (tulsi) and matcha. It’s perfect after a stressful day.
I’m obsessed with Bundt pans, so I chose to use that to make this delicious Green Tea Bundt Cake.
The lavender flavors from the tea add a subtle undertone that really pairs well in a cake form and add a warm cup of green tea along with it you will have a delicious dessert.
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 2 The Republic of Tea SuperGreen Tea tea bags
- Heat milk and steep 2 tea bags 3 minutes, set aside.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare bundt pan by coating with butter.
- Cream butter and sugar,
- Add 1 egg at a time,
- Add vanilla, mix.
- Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl
- Add 1/3 cup of the flour to the butter mix, followed by half of the tea. Mix.
- Continue until all ingredients are combined.
- Pour into bundt pan.
- Bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- When cooled, dust with confectionery sugar.
