Percy Jackson’s Ambrosia Smoothie

Percy Jackson’s Ambrosia Smoothie

Sharing is caring!

This delicious and healthy Ambrosia Smoothie, is a spin on the traditional Ambrosia salad, filled with a mix of frozen fruit, yogurt and shredded coconut.

After we finished reading the Percy Jackson series, we had lots of ideas of delicious recipes we can enjoy from the series.

The series talks about the food of the gods, ambrosia. It cures injuries when a demigod is hurt. This Ambrosia Smoothie is a delicious way to power yourself back up, just like the demigods when they have ambrosia in Percy Jackson and the Olympians! The word Ambrosia itself means “food of the Greek gods”.

Ambrosia Smoothie

This Ambrosia Smoothie is a spin off of the traditional ambrosia salad that seems to be everyone’s family favorite.

The classic ambrosia salad includes mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, coconut, maraschino cherries, marshmallows and cool whip.

I swapped out the cool whip and marshmallows and used yogurt as a healthier alternative and also added strawberries, peaches, and mangos for some more flavor and color in the smoothie.

How to Make an Ambrosia Smoothie:

Ingredients:

16oz bag of frozen fruit: strawberries, pineapple, mangos and peaches

1 1/2 cup vanilla or plain yogurt

1 cup orange juice

1/2 cup shredded coconut

Directions:

Give your ambrosia smoothie ingredients a whirl in a blender.

Top with shredded coconut and a cherry!

This recipe makes 2 smoothies.

I love serving this Ambrosia Smoothie to the kids on summer mornings, it’s quick and easy to whip up.

I like the added shredded coconut. I have a huge bag of it and I haven't thought of it for a smoothie.
