Percy Jackson’s Ambrosia Smoothie
A few weeks ago I shared that my son was reading the Percy Jackson series. If you have never read or heard of it , it’s a highly entertaining series about greek mythology and Percy Jackson, who is a demigod. On Instagram, many of my followers let me know that they loved reading it, so now I am starting the series as well!

I am still on the first book, but my son is now on the second book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. My kids love to read a good series and Percy Jackson is proving to be just that! Plus, it is the perfect series for my son’s summer reading requirements!
The series talks about the food of the gods, ambrosia. It cures injuries when a demigod is hurt. This Ambrosia Smoothie is a delicious way to power yourself back up, just like the demigods when they have ambrosia in Percy Jackson and the Olympians! The word Ambrosia itself means “food of the Greek gods”.
This Ambrosia Smoothie is a spin off of the traditional ambrosia salad that seems to be everyone’s family favorite.
The classic ambrosia salad includes mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, coconut, maraschino cherries, marshmallows and cool whip. I swapped out the cool whip and marshmallows and used yogurt as a healthier alternative and also added strawberries, peaches, and mangos for some more flavor and color in the smoothie.
Ambrosia Smoothie Recipe
16oz bag of frozen fruit: strawberries, pineapple, mangos and peaches
1 1/2 cup vanilla or plain yogurt
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup shredded coconut
Give it a whirl in a blender.
Top with shredded coconut and a cherry!
I love serving this Ambrosia Smoothie to the kids on summer mornings, it’s quick and easy to whip up.
