Every year one thing we can count on is the days getting shorter and the nights getting cooler. We also know that means that Fall has arrived and that there’s a lot of fun activities you can do with your family that don’t involve the heat of the summer.
Plus, you don’t have to look any further to find them, turn off the television, put those phones and gadgets away, and check out some of these Fall Fun Family Activities.
7 Fall Fun Family Activities
Camp Out With Your Kids
Autumn is the perfect time to camp out and enjoy the cooler weather with your loved ones. Making s’mores and wrapping up in blankets around a campfire telling stories makes for great memories. If you’re kids are anything like mine, they love camping. Here are some great reasons why you should take your kids camping.
During the fall, not a lot of people go camping that’s why you’ll get to take advantage of lower rates and fewer crowds. And fewer bugs, too!
If you want to avoid the travel and expense, you can do that, too. Pitch a tent in the backyard and camp out at home!
Join A Fun Run
Getting the family involved in a fun run is another activity you can do this Fall. A 5k run is the perfect distance for kids, too.
It doesn’t matter how young your kids are, they will enjoy attending the race and cheering for you even if they don’t participate themselves. So, grab your running shoes and get out there and run as a family!
Scavenger hunts are fun, but an Autumn themed scavenger hunt is even more fun! You can create a list of items you and your kids can find outside. It could be acorns, yellow leaves, pinecones, and so much more. You can even head to a nearby park or the woods to enjoy this activity.
Give it a little twist by making riddles for each scavenger hunt item. This will make the participants have to guess or sleuth to figure out what they need to find to complete their hunt.
Go On A Hike
The views are gorgeous in the fall with all the leaves changing colors. Take your family for a hike and enjoy taking in all of the fall’s green and gold foliage.
Make a day of it and pack a lunch to enjoy on your journey. Remember the higher you climb the more you can see.
Fly A Kite
Flying a kite is best in the brisk, Fall wind. You can take the whole family out to your local park or just find a nearby open field.
Purchasing the supplies and building the kite together beforehand can be a great bonding experience, as well!
Go For A Bike Ride
Take your bikes to a local park or biking area and take in the sights. Don’t forget to stop and take plenty of pictures along the way to enjoy when you get back home.
Whatever activities you choose to engage in this fall with your family, the most important thing is that you’re doing it as a family. These are the memories that will last a lifetime for you, as well as for your kids.
