How to Keep Sugar Cookies From Spreading

There are a few things you can do to help your sweet sugar cookies from spreading. One is to make sure your dough is chilled before baking.

You can also try baking them on a Silpat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. And finally, make sure your oven temperature is correct – too hot and your cookies will spread too much!

How to Fix Crumbly Sugar Cookie Dough

There are a few things you can do to help sugar cookie dough from becoming crumbly. First, make sure that your ingredients are all at room temperature before beginning to make the dough. Room-temperature ingredients will mix together more easily and will result in a smoother dough.

Second, be careful not to overmix the dough. Overmixing can cause the gluten in the flour to develop too much, which will make the cookies tough and chewy instead of soft and delicate.

Finally, let your dough chill for at least 30 minutes before baking. This will help to keep the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.
