*Thank you to Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau for hosting our stay!
Slip and Slide at America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark
Spend a weekend at America’s largest indoor waterpark: Kalahari. Be sure to read my full guide to your stay at the Kalahari Resort here.
Go off roading!
Pocono Outdoor Adventure Tours at the Pocono Manor is just a 5 minute ride away from Kalahari and is the perfect place to get dirty doing a UTV off road tour.
The staff at Pocono Outdoor Adventure Tours is awesome. After filling out a few waiver forms, gear up and head out to your UTV. You can ride a single or double UTV.
We enjoyed a one hour tour that went through valley steams, up the mountains, and through the mud.
Let me assure you, you can do this! If I can, you can! There were many moments where I doubted myself and thought “OH MY GOODNESS”! But, my daughter and I had many moments of giggles! We want to go back in the winter for a snowmobile tour!
TIP: Fuel up on some delicious eats at Van Gilder’s Jubilee Restaurant. The Jubilee has been apart of the Poconos for over 40 years. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and delicious meals!
Swing from the tree tops!
Gorilla Grove Treetop Adventures is right on Kalahari’s property.
Before you can get swinging, you need to get your safety harness and gear on and get debriefed on how the equipment works.
So how does it work? Gorilla Grove Treetop Adventures Ropes Course contains courses made of small platforms constructed at various levels in the trees that are connected by different types of bridges that represent obstacles. You then maneuver from platform to platform over and through 87 different types elements that will challenge you with tightropes, swinging log steps, moving platforms, rope net climbs, tunnels, hanging posts and zip lines.
I have to tell you, I was so proud of my family for completing the course! After a few elements, they were able to maneuver the equipment themselves. There were a few moments where my daughter panicked, but she talked herself through the maneuvers. Everyone felt so accomplished and excited when they were done!
You’ll also want to go zip lining while you are at Gorilla Grove! This is the only attraction of it’s kind in the Poconos!
